Verla De Peiza leader of the Democratic Labour Party is meeting to discuss her resignation

PRESIDENT OF BARBADOS' MAIN opposition, the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Verla De Peiza, has resigned.

According to sources,  De Peiza has stepped down, and members are currently meeting at the party's headquarters at the George Street Auditorium, Belleville, St Michael.
Her resignation comes after the party suffered a crushing defeat at the recently held General Elections. The Barbados Labour Party (BLP), led by Prime minister Mia Mottley, won in all 30 constituencies.

De Peiza took over as president of the DLP in 2018 after the first historic 30-0 loss to the BLP.
