Vincentian man and two Grenadians held with almost 400K in marijuana
A fisherman from St Vincent and the Grenadines and two Grenadians, a chef and an assistant chef were arrested and are assisting police with investigations in Grenada after close to $400,000 in marijuana was found in a vehicle.
According to the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF), sometime after 2 am on January 13, officers attached to the Drug Squad Unit intercepted a vehicle along the Grand Anse Valley Roadway and searched.
The search revealed many controlled drugs. The Cannabis weighed 176 pounds and carried an estimated street value of $399,168.
As a result, a chef, 31 of St George, an assistant chef, 30 of St Patrick, and a fisherman, 32 of Brighton Village, St Vincent, and the Grenadines were arrested and are presently assisting police with investigations.
The vehicle was also impounded.
An additional charge may be preferred against the Vincentian national who entered the state of Grenada illegally.
One of the men also tested positive for COVID-19.
