Woman accused of stealing $60k from hotel in the Bahamas
A former reservations manager at the Dunmore Hotel in Eleuthera is charged with stealing $60,000 from the establishment.
Gerriba Mel-Maria Cunningham, 43, of Eleuthera, allegedly carried out the theft by making false entries in the hotel’s system.
Prosecutors allege that Cunningham made false entries on December 6, 2020, January 27, 2021, February 28, 2021, April 8, 2021, May 2, 2021, and June 6, 2021, that credited her account with $10,000 on each occasion.
Cunningham is also accused of laundering $40,000 of the money they claimed was illegally obtained.
She pleaded not guilty to charges of falsification of accounts, stealing because of employment and money laundering at her arraignment before Magistrate Kendra Kelly.
She was granted $20,000 bail ahead of her trial, scheduled for August 10.
