Baby found dead in the Bahamas
A 29-year-old man is assisting police with their investigation into the death of a three-month-old baby who was found with injuries to her face.
According to Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings, the child was in the custody of the 29-year-old man, described as a family friend, while the mother was at work.
“It is reported that the family friend believed the child was asleep and, shortly after that, realised the child was unresponsive,” Skippings told reporters.
The infant was taken to the hospital via private vehicle, where she was pronounced dead.
“The child was also observed with injuries to the face,” Skippings said.
“As a result, the 29-year-old family friend was taken into custody and is assisting police with the investigations at this particular time.”
