Jamaican man accused of molesting his pre-teen daughter pleaded not guilty
A 48-year-old Jamaican accused of molesting his pre-teen daughter in the Cayman Islands where he resides pleaded not guilty on Friday to several charges when he appeared in the Grand Court.
The man, who resides in the West Bay area, cannot be named for legal reasons. He pleaded not guilty to four counts of defilement and three counts of abuse of trust.
According to media reports, the charges allege that between 1 July 2018 and 31 January 2021, the man had sexual relations with his daughter, who is under 12 years old.
The man, who is originally from Jamaica, was released on strict bail conditions, which include a curfew that runs from 10 pm to 5 am, not to go within 100 yards of his daughter’s school, not to contact several witnesses, and to provide a surety of $2,000.
His trial is set for February 2022.
