Ricardo Drue remembered as a kind, real and passionate entertainer
Tributes are pouring in for Ricardo Drue even as members of the Soca fraternity continue to struggle to come to terms with the news of his passing.
Writer, producer and entertainer Kerwin DuBois said Drue played his part in the Soca industry.
"Really didn't expect to wake up to this. Wow, I'm numb, numb, numb. Life is so short man. We gotta live our days like tomorrow ain't coming. When things like this happen to one of us in the Soca industry, it hurts us all. Love and light to the family. Rest in power Drue. You played your part in the soca industry."
Nailah Blackman said she's utterly confused.
"I'm utterly confused and I don't know how it's possible! What a great soul, positivity and light. I send my deepest condolences and prayers to your family Patrice Roberts, only God knows why and He has a plan. May he rest in peace."

"To our former member of our band, Ricardo Drue thank you for your contribution to the culture and for all the great memories we shared. Condolences to your family, friends and fans. RIP our dear brother."
Song writer and producer Jason "Shaft" Bishop said Drue was a true soldier.
"Got no words but let me say that this news is not sitting well. Just a few days ago we spoke about works that we got going on and have to finish. Drue, you were a true soldier may you rest in peace. Condolences going out to your entire family and your fiancé Patrice Roberts. Sleep easy bro, and continue the works with the angels. That special song we got coming, I will make sure it hit every airwave bro."
The Viking, Bunji Garlin posted "Our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Ricardo Drue at this time. It was and still is an honour to call him friend and brother as always when we see each other. He had a strong vision of self and where he wanted to take it. Love and respect to the fullest brother."
"Unbelievable. May your energy live on through your kids and your loved ones. Patrice Roberts, condolences sis. We're all heartbroken," Nikki Crosby posted.
Antiguan soca giant, Tian Winter said words cannot express the overwhelming series of emotions he's felt since learning of Drue's death.
"Everyone knows of our colourful past, but I am so grateful that God would have made it to be, that over the summer past, we got together and trashed out our differences and pledged to work together in a spirit of love and unity with the ultimate aim of taking Antigua's music to the world.
Whilst we were fierce rivals, there was no doubt that Ricardo's life intertwined with mine. He pushed me to be better at my craft. We also shared several commonalities to include, our love for family, a close-knit circle of friends, a passion for soca music and entertaining our fans, delivering on stage at the highest possible level, with the utmost energy and vibe.
FaceOFF was indeed one of the fondest memories I have as an entertainer, an evening where Ricardo and I showed professionalism and grace while entertaining our audience to the fullest. Our collaboration on this event enabled us to have a greater appreciation for each other away from the clutter of rival fans, fueling the flames of bitterness and competition. It set the foundation for more collaborations to come. Unfortunately, God had other plans.
On behalf of myself, Iconic, Icons, and the people that make up Team Tian Winter, I express heartfelt sympathies, to his mom and siblings, Patrice and all his children, Josh and the members of DWO."
Like countless others, Skinny Fabulous expressed his sadness at Drue's passing while also pledging his support to Patrice and the other members of his family.
"The last thing I expected to hear on that phone this morning was your passing bro. You were one of the realist people I knew swear to God. I'll never forget the random calls you made to me asking if I was OK simply because you felt an energy that compelled you to make sure I was good and to let me know that you there if I needed anything. You were kind and sincere bro. I wish I got to tell you more how much I appreciated your help and care on Uber, the daily knock on my door to bring meds or water, or just make sure I'm good. 😢. How are you not here today bro? How? I will miss you. We will miss you. I pray for strength for your family and your kids 😢😢😢 your kids 😢😢 . @patriceroberts1 I am so sorry for your loss and please know that we are here in anywhich way to support," he posted.
