St Vincent and the Grenadines experiences high temperatures
The heat is being felt in the Caribbean as St Vincent and the Grenadines recorded a high temperature, which broke a previous figure recorded last month.
The Meteorological Service says on October 4, at 11:36 am, a record-high daily maximum temperature of 33.9 degrees Celsius was recorded at Argyle International Airport (AIA).
This broke the previous record of 33.8°C a few days ago on September 29, 2023.
The Met Service notes that at its Arnos Vale Station, located at the decommissioned E.T Joshua Airport site, the highest daily maximum temperature recorded was 35.6°C in July of 1979.
Vincentians have been reminded that warmer than usual day and nighttime temperatures are predicted for the next two months (October and November).
Residents should remain hydrated during warm days and adhere to all recommendations from the Ministry of Health.
