Police did not reveal the identities of the deceased. Still, they noted the man was out on bail for an attempted armed robbery, and he previously faced charges of firearms possession and manslaughter.
Preliminary reports indicate the duo drove west along Prince Charles Drive just before noon. Upon reaching the intersection with College Gardens, their car was approached by another vehicle whose occupants began shooting at them.
The gunmen escaped by fleeing west on Prince Charles Drive. Their vehicle was later found abandoned on Hanna Road.
Police said the victims were shot multiple times, and they died on the scene.
