CARICOM Election Observers arrive in Grenada

A team of election observers from the Caribbean Community are in Grenada to monitor the country’s electoral process.
The Mission is led by John Jarvis, Commissioner of the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell met with members of the observer team today.
“Accountability and transparency are key watchwords for the Government of Grenada. I am therefore delighted that the CARICOM Secretariat accepted the Government's invitation to mount an observer mission because it reinforces the transparency of the electoral process,” he said in a Facebook post following the meeting.
The General Election is scheduled to take place on 23 June.
Mitchell is seeking his sixth term as Prime Minister and a repeat of the 15-0 win his New National Party secured over the National Democratic Congress in 2018 and 2013.
